How often do you eat Strawberries?

Did youknow that strawberries are very high in Vitamin C and in folic acid? What a bonus! Not only are they good, but they are good for you. So, how often do you eat strawberries? We eat them with our cereal in the morning, sliced with other fruit for lunch, then maybe just as a snack in the afternoon, but best of all is dessert !

Since being introduced to your California Giant Strawberries, my daughter can not eat any smaller berries which are available in the west Texas area. And I have to agree with her that you have developed a berry which is as delicious as it is tasteful to the eye.

I do have a question you can answer. I am wondering what strain of berry you grow in your California fields. Maybe it’s a Diamante or Sescape. Can you please tell me if it’s not a trade secret?

Thank you again for such delicious fruit.

thanks for your great comments about our berries. We are so pleased your daughter enjoys them.

We grow several varieties of berries, which are district specific. Currently, we are harvesting berries in Oxnard and Santa Maria, CA. The varieties are Ventana and Albion.

    Enjoy!

    Good morning!
With the trend towards organic produce, could you please tell me what kinds of pesticides you use on the berries and what is the safest way to clean them?
    Thanks so much!

    Hi Patti

Thanks for writing. While we do occasionally apply crop protection tools, they are only used when absolutely necessary to protect the health of the plant. All compounds used are approved by local, state and/or federal agencies and are not considered a health risk to consumers by those agencies. We try to use natural methods as much as possible which includes releasing predatory pests (good bugs that kill bad bugs) in our fields as alternative to chemical methods.
The best way to care for your strawberries after purchase whether buying organic or conventional is to simply wash fruit under cool water before serving. This will remove any soil or other residues that remain on the fruit from the field.
    ENJOY!!
